Front Grill
The mesh went in easy and is secured well. I used the lower grill lamp's screws to hold it in place. After I put the lower grill in I decided to try the upper smaller intakes to see how it looked. It looks good! But I'm not happy with how they are secured. It took about 2 hours to get it all to fit in right and look the way I wanted it to.
I've seen grills for $100 + bucks. I made this one for $15. You will need a 1'x4' piece of mesh. I choose flat instead of expanded sheet.
The factory lamps are excellent for holding the mesh in place. Remove the two screws holding the lamp bracket and repeat on the other side. Just swivel the lamps. Getting the plastic pin out of the bottom is not worth the trouble.
Cut a piece 38" x 8". There is an edge 2" long 1" high on the top at each end. Cut the piece out. It makes it alot easier.
If the hole is not big enough for the screws, take a flat screwdriver and twist to make it larger. Start with the top back screw. Much easier!!
I thought about cutting the lamps out but I like them hidden until the lamps turn on. It also acts as a rock deflector.
Here it is at night and with the upper mesh installed also.
And with the lights on.
